Session I & II:
June 18 - July 31, 2025

Collaborative Piano Fellowship Program welcomes up to two graduate/postgraduate pianists for a 6-week Festival residency. This specialized program is tailored to the needs of each individual student with an emphasis on collaborating with string players (ages 13-23) in a mentorship capacity. Students looking to expand their knowledge of string literature, strengthen accompanying skills, and gain a broad spectrum of performing experience should consider applying for this fellowship.

Application Requirements:

  • Video Recording of 2-3 contrasting pieces from different time periods that demonstrates musical and technical ability, such as a movement of a standard Romantic concerto, a show piece or an etude, and a movement of Bach.

  • Recorded Video Interview (see Fees & Deadlines for prompt)

  • Completed Online Student Application

  • Application Fee (non-refundable)

Collaborative Piano Fellowship students receive the following:

  • 2 one-hour weekly private lessons (focus on solo, chamber music, or collaborative piano literature)

  • 2 one-hour weekly collaborative chamber music coachings (with string students)

  • Observation of daily Audience Engagement classes (i.e. Improvisation, Stage Presence, Singing, and Drama)

  • Daily rehearsals with string players

  • Collaborative performance opportunities (masterclasses, concerts, competitions)

  • Possible additional Solo or Faculty performances as determined by faculty

  • Complimentary tickets to the Rushmore Concert Artists Series (a faculty performing collective) each weekend
